Fear not, therefore; – Matthew 10:31

My Pondering

The prior verse gives us one of innumerable reasons we should not fear, we should not be afraid of the unknown. That verse is:

And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.

Jesus, Matthew 10:30

Ponder that statement Jesus made for a moment.

So why worry? Rather we are called to pray. After-all prayer is simply a child asking of his Father.

7“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

9“You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

Jesus, Matthew 7:7-11

So we are to ‘keep on knocking’ trusting that what we need shall be provided and often times what we want, if its truly good for us.

I recently read a great quote the other day which is applicable to this topic:

“I try not to worry.

Fear is contaminated faith.”

Denzil Washington

That is so true; fear (the false kind) is contaminated truth.
