Access Control Best Practices and Troubleshooting

Install the system in the following order:

1. Identify all hardware and power requirements before ordering any equipment for the job.
2. Mount and wire all system components before programming on the Partner Portal.
3. Program the hardware into the Partner Portal before powering on the system.
4. Using a laptop, verify the Ethernet cable used for each controller provides an active Internet connection.
5. Power on the system after programming in the Partner Portal.
6. Verify the controller is reporting as online.
7. Program user information on the Customer Website with the system online.
8. Important: If you are not confident installing locking hardware, contact a local locksmith to choose and install the hardware for you.

Configure user access using the following principles:

1. Identify the customer’s needs before beginning.
2. Design the access plans before programming anything.
3. Verify the customer knows how to create access plans and add users using the Customer Website and Customer app.
4. Create all users and add all credentials before creating access plans.
