The Fiscal Year 2025 Secured School Safety Grant (FY24 SSSG) application period opens Monday, June 3, 2024. The application period will close July 1, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. EDT. No late or incomplete applications will be accepted.

Application Period:

  • Opens: Jun 3, 2024
  • Closes: July 1, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. EDT
  • No late or incomplete applications will be accepted


  • Schools and organizations registered in IntelliGrants
  • Active bidder number with the state of Indiana
  • Active supplier number with the state of Indiana
  • Grant update subscription

Period of Performance:

  • Sep 1, 2024, through Aug 31, 2025

Training Sessions:

  • Two virtual training sessions with Q&A via Microsoft Teams
  • Register by May 31, 2024
  • Training sessions on Jun 4, 2024 and June 11, 2024, at 10 a.m. EDT

Allowable Expenses:

  • Employ a school resource officer (SRO) or law enforcement officer (LEO)
  • Conduct a site vulnerability assessment and/or critical incident digital mapping
  • Purchase equipment, hardware, materials, and technology for security purposes
  • Purchase or provide training for a canine trained for security or detection purposes
  • Provide funding for school employees to receive training
  • Provide funding for SROs or LEOs to receive training related to handling a trained canine
  • Design and construct additions or renovations for enhanced physical security
  • Implement a bullying prevention program
  • Purchase a one-time non-matching grant for an active event warning system
  • Respond to threats in various ways, including firearms or self-defense training and counseling
  • Purchase student management technology

Additional Information:

  • Indiana has awarded over $163 million in SSSG grants since 2014
  • 474 schools received over $29.8 million in awards last year
